The MIPIM 2015* property investment fair kicked off in Cannes, France, on March 10, 2015 – one of the most important events on the international property market. Igor Chumachenko, VEGAS LEX Partner and Head of the Real Estate, Land & Construction Practice, is involved in most of the events on the Russian program at MIPIM.

Today he will speak at the 7th Cannes session of Investor’s Club, Roadmap for PPP in Russia: investment potential in the new economic model, organized by the Russian Guild of Property Managers and Developers and the St. Petersburg Committee for Investment. This year the Investor’s Club participants will meet to discuss how acceptable and effective public-private partnership projects are, to consider the conditions on which developers can join such projects, to assess the pros and cons and examine the possible ways of effectively using PPP arrangements.**

Mr Chumachenko will talk about best cooperation practices between the participants of infrastructure projects, ways to protect their interests, the priorities of the state and the investors, the specifics of interaction between the parties, investor risks, and possible alternative arrangements within the existing legal framework. He will also mention the potential improvement of the Russian legislation to help promote public-private partnerships.
