VEGAS LEX celebrates its 14th birthdayOn 23 July 2009, “The Apartment” Restaurant hosted a celebration in honour of Vegas Lex’s birthday. The reception was attended by some 200 guests, including clients, partners, journalists and just friends, who, in their turn, found many kind words for the hero of the occasion. Pavel Baranov, Director of the United Legal Department of Russian Funds, made a wish that “Vegas Lex continues its successful development, and we attend its 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary!”. Gennady Alekseev, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Sakha (Yakut) Republic, also expressed his appreciation to Vegas Lex by saying: “The Firm is a company of true professionals. Special thanks to the female members of the team for their excellent work! By joining our efforts, we could implement a complex comprehensive project”. In his congratulatory speech, Oleg Kozlov, Deputy General Director for Legal Affairs and Corporate Governance of Mosenergosbyt, expressed a desire that the Firm “continues resolving, by joint efforts, the most challenging matters in front of us! The guests invited to the event included also representatives of government authorities and businesses such as RusHydro, SUEK, Leader Asset Management, Gazprom Neft, MTS, Interros, Raiffeisen Investment, Vnesheconombank, American Airlines, Russian Railways, Rosmorport, Citibank, Gazprombank, Sberbank of Russia, KES-Holding, KIT Finance, MICES, Lufthansa Cargo, UTAir, Atomredmetzoloto, British Airways, Rockwool, RF Transport Ministry, Federal Financial Markets Service, Government of the Saratov Region and many others. The celebration opened with the speeches delivered by Vegas Lex partners Albert Eganyan and Alexander Sitnikov addressing the clients and partners of the Firm with kind words of gratitude for their support and trust in joint projects. The highlight of the evening was the performance of a jazz band led by Vadim Eilenkrig, one of the best trumpet players in the world having a distinct and recognizable style of play. Vadim Eilenkrig has been also a solo performer in the Big Band of Igor Butman, the most famous Russian jazzman. Svyatoslav Belza, an honored artist of Russia, musician, literary critic and a TV host, was invited to be the Master of Ceremonies, and entertained the gathering with his hilarious jokes. The guests were not left untouched by the dancers performing passionate tango and the “foot-tapping” Latin American dances. The summer evening ended with the “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” movie.
