The International Forum "Transport Infrastructure in Russia in 2011 - an Innovative Way of Development"November 2, 2011, in Moscow (in Ritz Carlton hotel), supported by the Russian State Duma and "Infrastructure of Russia" project group of the Party "UNITED RUSSIA", took place the II International Forum "Transport Infrastructure in Russia - an Innovative Way of Development". The event was a continuation of the discussions and exchanges within the framework of the I International Forum, which was successfully held April 21, 2011 and brought together over 300 participants from 14 countries worldwide. The participants of the forum discussed the strategy of innovative development of the transport infrastructure of Russia and urgent security issues in transport. They proposed to improve the legal framework for the sector and suggested innovative schemes to attract funding for the priority projects. During these events, particular attention was paid to the use of intelligent transportation systems to provide safe transportation of people and goods in major cities The forum addressed the problem of intelligent transportation systems development, primarily in the railroad sector. Deputy Head of the PPP and Infrastructure Practice, represented VEGAS LEX as a key speaker at the conference "Building the infrastructure of high-speed intelligent railway transport". He introduced the current issue on "Organizational and legal constraints in creating a HST in Russia". The participants discussed the ways and strategies of high-speed traffic, as well as traffic safety, the introduction of advanced information technologies, innovative projects and successful experience in using the existing technologies in Russia and other countries. The Forum served as an important platform for the dialogue between business and power in anticipation of the upcoming parliamentary elections. The relevance of the forum is due to the needs which address the problems of infrastructure development of the industry as well as the establishment of integrated information support system of the entire transportation sector of the country. Innovative technologies today are the most important management tool in the modernization of all sectors of the economy. |
