The VEGAS LEX law firm has become the official partner of the 10th professional energy forum, Fuel and Energy: Ten Years of Reform, which took place on October 10, 2013.
The event brought together over 100 representatives of government agencies, fuel and energy companies, infrastructure companies and investors.
The participants discussed the results of the fuel and energy reform, the new wholesale market model, anti-monopoly regulation and control in the power generation industry, further modernization and the sector’s future investment-based development, energy efficiency market development trends in Russia, and other issues.
Alexander Lavrentyev, head of the Fuel and Energy Group at VEGAS LEX, spoke at the forum as part of its business program. His presentation was devoted to preconditions of controversy and disputes emerging during court proceedings between parties in the power generation industry. The expert explained what factors shape the conditions for the basic relations on the electricity markets, described the types of disputes that emerged in the course of the power generation sector reform 10 years ago, and suggested ways of more effective law enforcement in this area.
The annual event has grown into a professional venue for discussion and analysis of the most important developments, problems and trends on the Russian energy market, for identifying priorities and strategic goals for the near future, as was evidenced by the keen response from the participants.
