The VEGAS LEX law firm participated in MIPIM 2014, the world's largest real estate exhibition and conference taking place on March 11-14 in Cannes, France.
VEGAS LEX was actively involved in the key events of the Russian program at MIPIM. Igor Chumachenko, VEGAS LEX Partner and head of the Real Estate, Land & Construction Practice, took part in the following sessions:
- The 5th session of Investors’ Club: international investment into Moscow real estate, organized by the Moscow City Government and the Russian Guild of Property Managers and Developers.
- Roundtable: «Russia: discover and invest», organized by the ARENDATOR.RU commercial property web portal and supported by VEGAS LEX. Mr. Chumachenko’s presentation was devoted to ways to achieve greater proximity of positions between foreign investors and Russian developers. He particularly focused on explaining various investment models based on Russian and international law; spoke of potential risks and approaches to structuring relations while implementing joint projects.
- Discussion: «Infrastructure projects: Points of attraction. Successful cases and opportunities for investors», organized by the Guild of Property Managers and Developers. Mr. Chumachenko spoke about the development of a system of transport hubs in St. Petersburg, emphasizing the opportunities for investors to tap the adjacent areas’ potential for effective use.
This year, Russia, Brazil & Turkey have been nominated as countries of honor. The event brought together over 20,000 participants from 80 countries.
