Head of VEGAS LEX Commercial Group will speak at a pharmaceutical industry summit, Strategic Management of Pharmaceutical Portfolios in Russia and the CIS, organized in Moscow on October 27 and 28.

Expert will participate in the session “Strategic Partnership of Business and Government + Regulatory Frameworks” on the second day of the conference. In his presentation, he will cover the main trends in legislative and regulatory compliance practices on the market for pharmaceutical products in 2014 (providing an analysis and summary of the Federal Anti-monopoly Service and court decisions as examples). He will talk about unjustified rejections of proposed agreements and explain in which cases such rejections can be justified while in others, it is illegal. He will also discuss limitations that holders of patents or exclusive rights for a medicine are subject to. The participants will consider public procurement practices and discuss the reasons for a bidder being excluded from trading for violating the existing patent for the medicine in question, criteria for confirming that two medicines are equal substitutes, and the widely disputed status of a local medicine.

During the summit, experts will discuss the most recent trends in strategic management of pharmaceutical portfolios and risk assessment, strategies for expanding the product portfolio on the present-day pharmaceutical market, innovations in the pharmaceutical business, the newly discovered innovations in the pharmaceutical industry and their applications.

The event is expected to gather representatives of most major pharmaceutical companies in Europe, Russia and the CIS, regulatory agencies, and other concerned organizations, associations, institutes and research centers.
