ENERGY SECTOR LEADERS DISCUSS FUTURE OF POWER INDUSTRY IN RUSSIA
On September 21, 2018, "New Russia – new power industry. Generation of the future", the professional conference, organized by the Association "Council of Power Producers"* and backed by the VEGAS LEX law firm, was held in Radisson Resort & Residences Zavidovo (Tver Region). Representatives of ministries and state institutions, heads of the largest Russian and foreign power companies, leading experts of power industry participated in the conference. In particular, the Market Council NP Association, UPS SO JSC, Gazprom energoholding LLC, TGK-2 PJSC, T-Plus PJSC, Kvadra PJSC, Fortum PJSC and others took part in the discussion. The main speakers were Alexandra Panina, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Association "Council of Power Producers", and Valery Seleznyov, the first deputy of the chairperson of Energy Committee of State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Alexander Sitnikov, the Managing partner, and Evgeny Rodin, the Partner, Head of Energy practice, who took an active part in the discussion on prospects of development of domestic power industry, represented the VEGAS LEX law firm. Participants in the discussion also considered the role of traditional and renewable energy resources, new technologies and issues of development of the electricity and capacity wholesale market, modernisation of generating facilities of power stations and localisation of generating equipment. *** * Association "Council of Power Producers and Strategic Power Industry Investors" was founded in 2008, and it currently unites interests of all major power generating companies of Russia by taking an active part in preparation of important power industry documents at all levels of decision-making.
