On May 19-20, 2016, Krasnodar lawyers gathered for the first Legal Forum Live* conference, held as part of a series of international events that involved watching online sessions of the 6th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum and discussing relevant issues among representatives of the regional legal community, government and business *.

Maxim Grigoryev, Head of Special Projects at VEGAS LEX, spoke at one of the key sessions about Special investment contracts as a new tool of state support for investors. The expert explained how a special investment contract works and described in detail its advantages and benefits for both parties in the contract. He described the various types of contracts, explained what documents the investor needs to provide for each, and how each contract should be concluded. Mr. Grigoryev also shared some success stories and warned of possible pitfalls when using them.

The participants addressed important issues of antitrust enforcement, the prospects of administrative proceedings in Russia, legal issues of foreign investment in the Krasnodar Region, environmental responsibilities of industrial enterprises, legal aspects of bankruptcy, intellectual property protection and so forth.
