Mediation course for arbitrators of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was held
In November 2004, Albert Eganyan, the managing partner of the Firm, took part in a conference of arbitrators of the Joint Commission on Corporate Ethics of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. This meeting marked the beginning of a training course for arbitrators, which was requested by Boris Titov, the chairman of the joint commission. A course on "Mediation as a Method of Conflict Resolution in Russian Business" included issues related to the history of mediation procedures in Russia, the use of mediation to protect business interests in "non-transparent" and "non-public" transactions, and the general features of a mediation procedure – the mediation agreement, negotiation teams, the status of the mediator, and mediation methods. There was a separate discussion of issues related to the enforcement of agreements reached through mediation.
Under an agreement between the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Vegas-Lex, the Firm will conduct training on mediation for all of the arbitrators of the Joint Commission on Corporate Ethics of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs within the next six months.
