Companies discuss onsite power generation, self-sufficiency in Krasnodar
Head of the VL Energy Projects Practice Evgeniy Rodin moderated the Expert Café session, Legal Aspects of Generating your Own Electricity. His presentation evoked a lively response from his audience and sparked a vigorous discussion, which continued even beyond the session.
Maxim Grigoryev, who heads VEGAS LEX’s Southern Directorate, moderated the Interview on Stage session, Microgeneration: Technology of Integration into Regional Power Grids.
Natalya Nevmer, chief executive of the Noncommercial Partnership of Default Suppliers and Utility Companies, was invited as a special guest speaker. She shared her insights into the technology of connecting small-scale power generation facilities to local grids. Andrei Popov, the head of technology development at Chelyabenergo (a branch of the IDGC of Urals, a major regional utility), spoke about his company’s successful experience and challenges of technological connection of new small-scale facilities to the Chelyabinsk Region’s energy grid.
Other important issues discussed at the forum included the future of distributed generation in southern Russia, funding options for onsite generation, cases and best practices of generating your own electricity, innovations and unconventional approaches to organizing embedded generation, and others.
The Krasnodar forum was attended by leaders and representatives of federal government agencies, as well as Russian and foreign companies that have implemented successful onsite generation projects.
